JABARRE DAVIS

FILMMAKER. PHOTOGRAPHER. EDITOR

Davis is an American director, writer and creative artist. Born in Chicago, IL, but  soon moved to the small town of Crossett, Arkansas, where there weren’t many resources in film, so as a young boy he began writing short stories and plays for fun to cultivate and experiment with his passion.  From there he starred in plays in high school drama class. After graduating from high school, Jabarre attended University of Central Arkansas where he entered the theatre program which enabled him to forge some lasting relationships. After finishing college, he moved to Dallas, Texas in 2000 and started out working in the corporate mortgage industry, but after years of drifting farther from his dreams of becoming a filmmaker, Jabarre finally made the decision to leave corporate America and pursue filmmaking full-time. In 2015 as a vehicle to create amazing visual content, Jabarre started the company Boksvizual, LLC. Inspired by great filmmakers such as John Singleton, Stanley Kubrick, Gordon Parks, Spike Lee and Orson Welles, he began crafting his own style of film. After years of working on tv commercials, music videos and short films, in 2017, Jabarre was given the wonderful opportunity to produce a full feature documentary called Jumping Jeff, which chronicles the life of American Olympic long jumper, Jeff Henderson.  With several upcoming projects underway, Jabarre is looking to create more engaging content while following his passion.
